    Voice Capture is a script you paste into a survey you already run. It works today with Alchemer — formerly SurveyGizmo — and with QuestionPro, and with any platform that lets you add custom HTML or JavaScript.

    How the integration works

    There is no separate platform and no questionnaire to rebuild. Three things happen, and only the first two need you.

    1. 1

      Paste one script tag per survey

      A single <script> line in your survey's custom HEAD. It loads the recorder and nothing else — your questionnaire, page logic, quotas and panel settings are untouched.

    2. 2

      Point it at the open-ended questions you want

      A short JavaScript Action names the question ID. Respondents get a record button next to the answer box, and can still type instead if they prefer.

    3. 3

      The transcript lands in your own response data

      The spoken answer is transcribed and written into the survey's own answer field. It reaches your export, your dashboards and your data file as text, in the same row as every other answer.

    Questions people ask before setting this up

    Yes. SurveyGizmo was renamed Alchemer in 2020 and it is the same product, so the Alchemer integration is the SurveyGizmo integration. Any account that can add a JavaScript Action can run it.

    No, and that is deliberate. Voice Capture is a client-side script you embed in the survey, not a service your survey platform has to call. The transcript is written straight into the answer field of the question it belongs to, so it arrives inside your existing export rather than in a second system you would have to reconcile afterwards.

    No. Setup is two copy-and-paste steps, and the only thing you edit is the question ID number. Each platform guide shows the exact code with your project key already filled in.

    Nothing. The script adds a button to a question that already exists. Page logic, piping, quotas, panel integration and your data file keep working exactly as they did — that is the difference between this and moving a study into a separate interview platform.

    Any plan on an account that can add JavaScript Actions and edit the survey's custom HEAD. If you are not sure, the Alchemer guide shows where both settings live so you can check in under a minute.
